TACO DAY 808/1000
HI SPICE HAWAIIAN PULLED PORK TACOS!
With a number like 808 I had to make it all about my favorite 808 hot sauce, Maui’s own @hi_spice .
With a few taco suggestions from HI Spice founder, Justin, on what incredible tacos I should infuse his hot sauce to. I decided on Sweet Hawaiian pulled pork tacos with a pineapple salsa.
First i slow cooking up a pork shoulder all day in sweet pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce and a few spices it was finally complete.
Aftee shredding up the meat I worked up a salsa using pineapples, red onion, cilantro, cucumber, lime juice with fresh tomatoes and jalapenos from my wife’s garden.
Next I warmed up flour tortillas and piled in the deliciousness. First a layer of sour cream, followed by a little red cabbage and the meat. I slapped in a mountain on pulled pork and capped it off with the pineapple salsa.
My tacos were just not complete until I drenched each one with Guava Lava and Lava Lime hot sauces from @hi_spice . Each bite of the taco required another drizzling of sauce so I’d alternate between Mango and the Pineapple Ginger Sauces. It was hard to pick one because their all perfectly pack with island sweetness and heat, my favorite of pairing.
